Most of us have had to deal with nosey neighbours from time to time, however one woman has shared how she thinks her neighbour is stalking her as she asked for advice.

The woman, based in the US, took to Reddit to talk about her 'creepy' neighbour as she asked people for advice. Sharing her tale, she wrote: "I've lived in a rental with my mum for about a year now, and the neighbour directly across from us watches us all the time. When I say all the time, I specifically mean every time we are out of our house, he is out of his too- doing nothing but standing there and staring at us the whole time we are actively out.

"In fact, the guy's car is parked in his driveway so every time we are out, he pops his trunk to watch us from behind it. And I mean it is so obvious because when you look at him, he doesn't go away until 30 seconds of really awkward direct eye contact, but once he notices he hurries inside his house."

She added: "This has been going on the whole time we've lived here, so I've asked my left and right neighbours if they know anything about the guy and both of them said he's a nice dude but were surprised to hear that he's watching us.

"Apparently, he only speaks Spanish so I understand if he's trying to say something to us, but can't figure out how?

"But no matter what benefit of the doubt I can give him, It's still really creepy behaviour. I'm only bringing it up now because it's got worse recently- he's only been getting closer and closer to us when he's watching."

Sharing some recently incidents, the woman said that the man was watching her friends and her while they were hanging in her driveway.

She said: "He was watching us the whole entire time, standing there with his arms crossed and slowly inching closer to us, until he was standing on the sidewalk in front of my house, maybe a couple of yards us.

"I was watching him out of the corner of my eye, but only really stared him down once he was too close and he went back inside his house."

She also said he watched her as she cleaned her car and then he approached her as she finished. "I couldn't understand what [he was trying to say], but out of uncertainty I quickly went inside with the house and locked up as usual."

Giving their opinions, many said the behaviour seemed odd. Someone wrote: "That's really creepy. When he watches you, I think you should say something. Ask him what he wants. Or he's gonna keep bothering you but make sure you're with another person in case something happens."

While another added: "That would make me super uncomfortable too. Even if he’s harmless or just lonely, the fact that he keeps getting closer is a red flag. You’re not overreacting, trust your gut and maybe start documenting it just in case."

A third also suggested that she put security cameras up, while someone else said they'd been through the same thing. They wrote: "I’m sorry you are going through this. I know it’s terrifying because I’ve been there too. You can let your building manager know and they can give them a warning. Ultimately I had to move to get away from it."
